What is the type of Government Rebates and Schemes offered to our customers?
01
Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES)
The Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme is a federal government initiative that provides financial incentives for installing eligible smallscale renewable energy systems, including solar PV panels and solar hot water systems. Under the SRES, homeowners and businesses receive Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) for their solar installations, which can be traded or sold to offset the upfront cost of the system.
02
Solar Feed-in Tariffs (FiTs)
Many Australian states and territories offer solar feed-in tariff programs, which provide payments to homeowners and businesses for excess electricity generated by their solar PV systems and exported to the grid. FiT rates vary depending on the region and electricity retailer, but articipating in a FiT program can help offset electricity bills and increase the financial benefits of solar energy.
03
State Government Rebate Programs
Several state governments in Australia offer rebate programs and financial incentives to encourage the adoption of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV and battery storage. These programs may provide rebates, grants, or lowinterest loans to help offset the cost of installing solar and BESS systems, making them more affordable for homeowners and businesses.
04
Home Battery Scheme
Some states, such as South Australia and Victoria, offer specific rebate programs for residential battery storage systems as part of their broader energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives. These programs aim to encourage the uptake of BESS technology by providing financial incentives to homeowners who install eligible battery systems alongside their solar PV installations.
05
Energy Efficiency Loans and Financing
In addition to rebate programs, various state governments and financial nstitutions offer energy efficiency loans and financing options to support renewable energy projects, including solar and BESS installations. These loans may offer competitive interest rates and flexible repayment terms to help homeowners and businesses finance their solar and BESS investments.
06
Grid Support and Demand Management Programs
Some electricity networks and regulators offer grid support and demand management programs that provide incentives for homeowners and businesses to install battery storage systems. These programs aim to alleviate pressure on the grid during peak demand periods and improve overall grid stability by encouraging the adoption of distributed energy storage solutions.
07
Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificate (VEEC) Scheme
The VEEC scheme is specific to Victoria and aims to encourage energy efficiency improvements in residential and commercial properties. Under this scheme, businesses and households can claim VEECs for implementing eligible energy-saving activities, such as installing energy-efficient appliances, lighting upgrades, and insulation improvements. VEECs are created based on the estimated energy savings achieved by the energy efficiency upgrades and are traded in the market. By participating in the VEEC scheme, businesses and homeowners can offset the cost of energy efficiency upgrades and reduce their overall energy consumption.
08
Renewable Energy Target (RET) Scheme and Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs)
The RET scheme is a federal government initiative designed to increase the proportion of renewable energy in Australia's electricity generation. Under the RET scheme, eligible renewable energy generators, such as solar PV and wind farms, are issued Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) for each megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable electricity they generate. LGCs can be sold to electricity retailers or other entities that have obligations under the RET scheme to purchase a certain amount of renewable energy certificates each year. By generating and selling LGCs, renewable energy generators can generate additional revenue to support their operations and investment in renewable energy infrastructure. The RET scheme helps drive investment in renewable energy projects across Australia and contributes to the country's transition to a low-carbon energy system.
